For decades, sustainability was heralded as the cornerstone to achieving long-term successful and responsible development of global tourism. Our team on stage: Matthias Beyer (Signatory of the WEP on behalf of mascontour)

The session highlights the crucial contribution of women in shaping the tourism sector and aligns with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (BMZ) commitment to feminist development policy. Leaders of the tourism industry together with the German Government will commit to advancing gender equality and empower women within their organizations by endorsing the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), co-founded by UN Women and the UN Global Compact. The WEPs initiative is driven by collective action aimed at dismantling discriminatory structures, enhancing women’s rights, resources, and representation. This commitment marks a significant step toward fostering sustainable and inclusive practices in the global tourism industry.
