As part of our commitment to the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and our broader sustainability and human rights agenda, the mascontour team recently participated in a dedicated training on the prevention of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace.
The training forms part of our ongoing efforts to foster a workplace culture based on respect, dignity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, team members strengthened their understanding of different forms of discrimination and harassment, reflected on the impact these behaviors can have on individuals and organizations, and explored ways to contribute to a more inclusive working environment.
A key outcome of the training was a shared recognition that creating a work environment where everyone feels safe, respected, valued, and empowered is a fundamental element of mascontour’s organizational culture and an essential condition for sustainable and responsible business practices.
The session also provided an opportunity for the team to jointly review and define a clear process for reporting incidents of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. By clarifying reporting channels, responsibilities, and response procedures, mascontour aims to ensure that all team members have access to safe and confidential mechanisms to raise concerns and seek support when needed.
The training addressed topics such as unconscious bias, equal opportunity, workplace inclusion, sexual harassment, retaliation, and the importance of accountability and respectful communication. Participants explored real-life workplace situations and reflected on how to foster a culture in which concerns can be raised without fear of retaliation.
This initiative contributes directly to the implementation of the Women’s Empowerment Principles, particularly:
- Principle 2: Treat all women and men fairly at work without discrimination.
- Principle 3: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all employees.
At mascontour, we believe that diversity, inclusion, and respect are essential drivers of innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development. By continuously investing in capacity building and internal dialogue, we seek to create a workplace where every individual can contribute, grow, and thrive.
Because sustainable tourism starts with people – and with workplaces where everyone feels safe, respected, valued, and empowered.
