Shaping a Climate-Resilient Tourism Future for Rhineland-Palatinate Together

Over the past few weeks, we have already held six regional workshops in the tourism regions of Rhineland-Palatinate together with B.A.U.M. Consult – three more will follow in the coming weeks. This means that we are currently in the middle of an intensive and inspiring participation process.

Participating regions include:

Ahrtal, Eifel, Hunsrück, Lahntal, Westerwald, Pfalz, Rheinhessen, RomanticRhine

As part of the project “Expert guidelines on climate change impacts and adaptation strategies for tourism in Rhineland-Palatinate”, we are discussing the key challenges and opportunities of climate change for tourism together with regional tourism players, local authorities, associations, service providers and other stakeholders.

The workshops focus on:

✅ Raising awareness of the specific impacts of climate change on tourism services and infrastructure
✅ Developing a shared understanding of regional vulnerabilities
✅ Identifying initial practical adaptation measures for destinations and tourism businesses
✅ Facilitating exchange and networking among a wide range of local stakeholders

The high level of commitment and motivation of all those involved is particularly impressive. The openness with which challenges are discussed and solutions are developed together impressively demonstrates how much willingness to transform and innovative strength already exists in the regions today.

A big thank you to all regional tourism organizations and partners for their excellent cooperation, local organization and active participation in this important process! 🙏

We look forward to the next steps and to working together to develop concrete perspectives for climate-resilient tourism in Rhineland-Palatinate.
